On July 19 at around 8:40 am, at off-ramp at Byram/Delavan Exit 2 on I-95, emergency services were called to help a pregnant woman in labor. The couple had hit a pothole, getting 2 flat tires causing the wife to go into labor.
Arriving at the scene, Greenwich Police Officer Joshua Weinstock advised her to push on the next contraction after observing the baby’s head begin to crown. Upon her next contraction, Officer Weinstock assisted her with delivering a baby boy. The child started crying, which was a sign of good health, and was held safely until the arrival of medical personnel a few minutes later.
Between the lines: What a very capable Greenwich police officer.
