The Greenwich Board of Education (BOE) is requesting an increase in its budget of 5.4% to $202.9 million compared to late year's budget of $192.6 million.
The $10.3 million increase was due to contractual wage increases ($5.8 million), transportation ($1.2 million) and special education ($1.1 million). The rest is due to a partial loss of Title I funding for school lunches and loss of the "temporary" American Rescue Plan funding for curriculum resources and materials.
Between the lines: Has Greenwich set up a DOGE yet? Department of Government Efficiency.
