
Savion McKenna, age 18, of Green Street, Waterbury. CT is facing charges for numerous smoke shop (selling cannabis) break-ins around the state. On June 17 last year, around 3 am Ignite Smoke Shop on 14 West Putnam Avenue (at the top of Greenwich Avenue) was burglarized. A video showed a man breaking in with a screwdriver and three suspects entering and taking cash from the register.
The suspects used a Jeep Cherokee stolen from a Larchmont resident and a Lincoln Nautilus stolen from a Wallingford, CT resident.
Police learned that these burglars also broke into the Zaza smoke shop in Norwalk. McKenna is also facing charges for driving a Jeep stolen from Pelham, NY and stealing from a commercial establishment in Warwick, RI. He is also facing charges in Danbury for burglary.
According to court filings, there are a large amount of burglaries throughout Connecticut at smoke shops involving thousands of dollars of merchandise and cash stolen. The Lincoln Nautilus was involved in burglaries at smoke shops in 15 different incidents.
