Cost of CT Homeownership among highest in U.S.


CT came in fifth highest in a study that found owners of a typical single-family house in CT faces costs of $23,515 annually compared to $18,996 in 2020. This is a 24% jump. 


Homebuyers in CT are already being squeezed by higher prices and the cost of maintaining a house and paying property taxes has emerged as a major consideration.  Overall costs – including property taxes, maintenance, cable & Internet fees, annual energy bills and homeowners insurance – ranked behind New Jersey, Massachusetts, California & Hawaii.
