Built in the 1890's, the Havemeyer Building on 290 Greenwich Avenue, is currently home to the Greenwich Board of Education. Six groups responded to a request for proposal from the First Selectman to re-vitalize the building.
According to this Greenwich Time Story, the respondents include large local developers (Fareri Associates and HB Nitkin), several partnerships (RT Havemeyer Partners and Eagle Peeble Legacy Havemeyer LLC), LCB Senior Living and A-List Design owned by Sally Kellog of Norwalk.
The A-List Design proposal here envisions a full service entertainment destination, with a 7,000-person outdoor amphitheater for concerts and black tie events, a VIP catering area, a welcome center, a musical recording studio, a movie production facility and two new parking garages.
Between the Lines - The plan is to bring "Celebrity to the Avenue".
