Crisis of mismanagement at CT State colleges

The Connecticut State College System (CSCU) is vast. It consists of 17 campuses throughout Connecticut. overseeing 66,000 students. The CSCU system is also highly unprofitable (losing $140 million last year) and enrollment is falling (-36% in CT community colleges and -21% in regional CT state universities).

On top of that, an audit of the CSCU operation has revealed many instances of inappropriate spending and expense reimbursements by Chancellor Terrence Chang and his leadership team. The Chancellor's annual base salary is a substantial $450.000 plus generous health and pension benefits. While he promised to move to CT, the Chancellor still lives in New York.

Between the lines: Not sure our politicians have the political courage to solve this without continually hitting up CT taxpayers.
