CT Democrat leaders come out fighting against Trump

Connecticut is controlled by Democrats at the State and Federal level and they have come out fighting against the new Trump Administration policies. Trump was barely sworn in when the Democrats threw down the gauntlet, unwilling to send an initial message of unity.

CT Attorney General William Tong says he plans to file a lawsuit to challenge Trump's plans to end birthright citizenship and gender identity practices.

Senator RIchard Blumenthal called on lawmakers from both parties to oppose the president if he attempts to overreach.

Senator Chris Murphy said that he would seek to build a massive political campaign all across the country to oppose Trump's proposed tax cuts.

Congressman Jim Himes said he had grave misgivings about Trump's ability to lead with respect and integrity.

Governor Ned Lamont, one of few Democrat governors to attend Trump's inauguration, said he will be watching like a hawk.

Between the lines: So much for any attempt to unify behind the new president.
