CT Governor announces first emergency contraceptive vending machine installation

Last month, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont announced contraceptive initiatives for residents, including emergency vending machines and a birth control course for pharmacists. These initiatives are meant to lower the cost and accessibility of contraceptives.

The state's first emergency contraceptive vending machine has been installed at the University of Connecticut Storrs main campus. The vending machine carries Plan B (morning after pill), Narcan and other items such as tampons, condoms and Advil (for that morning after). Purchases can be made by paying UConn's Wellness Fee or using "Husky Bucks".

Between the lines: Now, can our politicians turn their attention to providing CT residents with low cost and reliable access to electricity.
