CT Representatives in DC push for use of U.S. weapons in Russian territory

Updated: Jun 7

According to the Greenwich Time, U.S. congressional members from Connecticut support expanding the use of U.S. weaponry into Russian territory bordering Ukraine in the belief that it will not escalate the war into a wider conflict.

Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal of CT urges use of expanded U.S. weaponry into Russian border territory to force Russia into a more defensive posture. He does not believe this will escalate into war. Blumenthal who has traveled to Ukraine five times in the last year, believes that Russian President Putin won't retaliate using nuclear devices.

Democrat House Member Jim Himes of CT, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, said in recent weeks he has been aggressively trying to get the White House to loosen restrictions on targetting artillery based in Russia near the Ukraine border. Himes believes that worries are overblown about Russia using nuclear weapons or attacking a NATO country.
