While most of the country shifts to red Republican, the Northeast doubled down on blue Democrat representation in this election. CT Senator Chris Murphy (Democrat) and CT Congressman Jim Himes (Democrat) easily won re-election. But they will be in the minority now.
In the CT State legislature, the Democrats picked up a seat in the State Senate (we now have 25 Democrats and 11 Republicans) and in the State Assembly, the Democrats picked up at least 4 seats (now 102 Democrats and 49 Republicans).
Between the lines: CT is one of the most expensive places to live in the U.S. We need to follow the rest of the country and Make CT Great Again.
