Democrat Nick Simmons targets Republican Ryan Fazio's Senate Seat

Nick Simmons, 34, a Greenwich native and former deputy chief of staff to Gov. Ned Lamont, announced his candidacy this week for Republican Ryan Fazio's 36th State Senate District, which covers all of Greenwich and a portion of Stamford and New Canaan. He is the younger brother of Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons.

Nick Simmons said he's running to secure more funding for schools, highways, train stations, parks, and beaches, "and to better represent the community’s values on gun safety, women’s rights, and climate change."

He has a long list of taxpayer funded spending initiatives and business killing regulation. Missing on his list are ways to reduce the burden on CT residents of the highest taxes and utility costs in the nation. Will Hartford accomplish anything to help taxpayers?
