Employee steals $1 million from Miller Motorcars of Greenwich

Francisco Ortiz, 39, a Stamford resident turned himself in at Stamford police headquarters on May 21, 2024. He embezzled more than $1 million over a ten month period in 2023 from the Miller Motorcar, a luxury dealership in Greenwich and Westport with a service center in Stamford on Magee Avenue. Over the period, Ortiz who was Tow Manager, generated 918 fraudulent tow service requests billed to a fake company. When attempting to recover the stolen funds, investigaors found that the majority of the funds were spent by Ortiz on gambling websites and liquor stores.
