Frightening road rage incidents on CT I-84

On Wednesday, Robert Misericordia, 27, of Hartford, turned himself in to CT state police. He was charged with reckless driving, driving the wrong way on a divided highway and first degree threatening, etc. He was carrying an expired registration for a different car and the plate to his orange Honda Civic was stolen.

Driving along CT I-84 between exits 16 and 15 near Southbury, Misericordia sped near a motorist, trying to run her off the road. He then slammed on his brakes in front of her, forcing her to stop. He got out of the car and kicked the car on all sides, booting deep dents into it and snapping off the passenger side mirror. A second motorist said he did the same to her car and held what looked like a machete. A third motorist said Misericordia rolled down his window, pointed what appeared to be a short black rifle at him and threatened to kill him.

Between the Lines - The police said they found a machete on the front passenger seat. Misericordia told police that he was recovering at home from back surgery (Didn't the shooter of the UnitedHealth CEO make a similar claim?). It's dangerous out there.
