Gas leaf blower restrictions go into effect on Friday

A new noise ordinance was approved by the Representative Town Meeting (RTM) of Greenwich in January 2024.

Effective Friday May 14 at 6 pm until September 30: No gas powered leaf blowers may be used on residential properties at any time.

Penalties: None this season, but starting in 2025:

First offense: warning

Second offense: $100

Subsequent offenses: $249

The Town gets an extra year to comply (originally requested 3 years). Many commercial landscapers are also requesting more time to comply.
