Dickson Alorwornu, known as "Dixon Al", age 35, a citizen of Ghana in West Africa, holding a green card and living in Greenwich, was found guilty yesterday of defrauding the University of CT (UConn).
Alorwornu used fake student names, social security numbers and email addresses to submit applications to UConn. He then used stolen American Express card info to fund $62,000 in two sudent accounts and subsequently withdrew from the courses requesting a refund to accounts he controlled.
Between the lines: "Dixon Al" used this same technique to commit fraud at other universities.
