Greenwich’s roots go back to 1640 when on July 18, Robert Feake and Daniel Patrick jointly purchased land in what today we know as Old Greenwich from the Munsee Indians.
On Thursday, July 18, the First Selectman will read a proclamation at an event at Innis Arden Cottage starting at 12 p.m. This event will celebrate Greenwich’s history, complete with a reading of the 1640 deed by former state legislature, Livvy Floren, and remarks from our Town Ambassador Bea Crumbine.
Educational tours will be given that day of the historic Feake-Ferris House at 181 Shore Road. Register in advance for the tours here.
Between the lines: The Feake-Ferris House is located at one of the most dangerous corners of Shore and Nawthorne Roads in Old Greenwich.
