Lin Han, 38, of NY was charged with operating as part of a fraud ring that acquired six cars worth more than $500,000 from a Mercedes-Benz dealership on West Putnam Avenue in Greenwich. Han was part of a group of men and women based in Queens who used fake driver's licenses and loan documents to defraud retailers. Han who was paid $700 to take part in the fraud had $40,000 of gambling debt from "underground casinos."
Between the lines: No wonder the prices at the Mercedes dealership are so high to cover these frauds.
