Starting in 2035, Connecticut car buyers were about to face a mandate to buy an Electric Vehicle. Under the new Trump Administration, the federal EV standards are being revised. As a result, CT Governor Lamont is no longer interested in an electric vehicle mandates for CT residents.
This change is a relief for those who have delayed purchasing electric vehicles due to high cost and battery safety issues. Also, this change is a relief for taxpayers who have been subsidizing the EV tax breaks which are mostly used by the wealthy.
Between the lines: Make CT Great Again.
