After the Board of Selectmen granted its town departments a one-year variance from summertime restrictions on gas-powered leaf blowers, six local landscaping companies have come forward to request variances. More reqeusts are expected and these requests are likely to be denied.
In his weekly letter here, First Selectman Camillo said his office has received repeated calls about residents being confrontational with the landscapers. The regulations are Greenwich law and must be followed but, he said, that is no excuse to harass people. "Leaf Blower Courtesy" is needed.
