Selected as one of eight training coaches, Jamie Barone, a Stamford native, Greenwich realtor and Chelsea Piers coach will oversee the U.S. Paralympic Swim team in Paris. Darien native Ali Truwit is on the team. She lost her foot and part of her leg in a shark attack last year. Barone has coached Ali Truwit since she was 10-years old at Chelsea Piers in Stamford until she left to swim at Yale.
When in Baltimore for college, Barone trained under Hall of Fame coach Bob Bowman and won the USA Swimming national championship in 2006 with Micheal Phelps in the 4x100 medley relay. He coached under Bob Bowman's tutelage at the Baltimore Aquatic Club.
