While the building of a new Dorothy Hamill rink in Greenwich continues its contentious process, an enormous new Wing's Arena is about to open in Stamford at the Old Greenwich border. The NHL-sized rink at 50 Barry Place, was the home of Conair and sits across from the Innis Arden Golf Club in Greenwich. The project was sponsored by the family of late billionaire businessman Leandro Rizzuto whose family founded Conair, maker of hairdryers and Cuisinart food processors, in 1959.

The 41,200 square foot facility will feature an expansive viewing lounge, six locker rooms, 300 capacity stadium seating and conference room. The facility is expected to be complete in June.

Between the Lines - It's time for Greenwich to step up its game and get Dorothy Hamill figured out.
