Parent group urges non renewal of Greenwich Public School Superintendent's contract

With her contract about to roll over, an effort is underway by a parent organization to urge the Town not to renew Public School Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones' contract. A list of their concerns include:

Western Middle School - several lockdowns this year due to weak security at the front door.

Cos Cob Elementary - Assistant Principal Jeremy Boland removal due to recorded remarks about discriminating against Catholics, conservatives and older applicants.

High Turnover - new principals/assistant principals in last 18 months at Julian Curtis, Cos Cob School, Hamilton Avenue, New Lebanon, Eastern and Western.

Hiring Practices - red flags raised about new hires Eduardo Calderon as Principal of Julian Curtis and Daniel Russo as Principal of New Lebanon. The two were live-in partners at their prior school (Cornerstone Academy for Social Action) and were charged there with ethics violations.

Other concerns include Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) practices, Critical Race Theory (CRT) in the curriculum, mishandling of COVID masking, declining academics, high cost per pupil, etc.
