Pasta Vera, owned by Susan Dell Ragone, is closing on August 1 after 38 years in operation. The restaurant located at the top of Greenwich Avenue, offered fresh homemade pasta and traditional Italian dishes.
Pasta Vera operated through the pandemic, offering curbside pickup. Then, when seasonal outdoor dining inside parking spaces became available, they were able to jump onboard with about a dozen seats in a “node.”
Between the lines: Rising rents and food inflation along with CT's higher regulations and taxes have hurt the restaurant industry. The consumer may be cutting back too.
