Serial felon charged for theft of Range Rover in Old Greenwich

Marcus Colon, 30, a Stamford man, was convicted of stealing a 2016 Range Rover in Old Greenwich in April. The car was recovered in the west end of Stamford with temporary New Jersey plates.

Inside the car, police found a number of stolen items including several purses, laptops and backpacks. One of the backpacks belonged to a Greenwich restaurant worker and a purse with bank checks in it belonged to a Stamford woman. A laptop with a tracker was traced to a motel in Stamford where Colon frequently stayed and was behind in payments. In the motel, police found two stolen credit cards, a receipt for $1,200 from a Danbury pawn shop from the sale of a Breitling watch and a number of empty wallets.

Colon has served over 1 year in prison, pleaded guilty to burglary, assault on police and auto theft around the state including Bridgeport, Hamden, West Haven and Strattford. In Stamford he is facing charges for auto theft, reckless driving and payment-card theft.
