In their first show of 2025, Saturday Night Live (SNL) took on both MSNBC, President-Elect Trump and ...the state of Connecticut.
The skit is about Trump's genius in distracting the media to chase after his many crazy-like-a-fox pronouncements such as acquiring Greenland and renaming the Gulf of Mexico, the Gulf of America.
According to the skit:
"Trump has just told reporters that he would like to trade Connecticut for Italy"
Keep in mind that Italy is run by the very conservative Prime Minister Giorgia Maroni and CT is run by Democrat Governor Ned Lamont. Not a bad trade. And with the large Italian community in Greenwich led by Selectman Fred Camillo, this might be a welcome trade to get some real Italian pasta.
Between the lines: Not sure how we should feel about Connecticut becoming the butt of jokes on Satuday Night Live.
