Today June 20, marks the summer soltice for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. It is the first official day of summer when the earth is tilted closest to the sun.

The June solstice is marked worldwide by many events including celebrations at Stonehenge in England, Japan's Candle Night, Sweden's Midsummer Festival, and Iceland's Secret Solstice Festival.
