Greenwich police have apprehended a 32-year old man who is part of an organized larceny ring operating out of Mount Vernon, NY for the smash and grab of $41,300 worth of stolen Chanel handbags from Saks Fifth Avenue on September 21, 2023. The Mount Vernon group who are known to carry weapons have stolen $400,000 of high end goods in stores through the tri-state area.
Six masked men charged into our local Saks Fifth Avenue store ripping 15 Chanel handbags off the anti-theft cables and knocking over display cases. They jumped into a rented white Ford Expedition. The security worker got the license plate number and give it to police. The suspect has an extensive criminal record including arrests for possession of a controlled substance, assault, strangulation and grand larceny.
