Yesterday, after an unprecedented fourth day of meetings, the Board of Estimate and Taxation BET approved the Town's 2024-2025 budget. The BET approved record high spending on capital projects of $144 million, an increase of +28%. The BET also approved the largest ever operating budget of $501 million, an increase of +4% over last year.
Bottom line: the mill rate is expected to increase 2.8% to 11.712. Overall property tax revenues are projected to increase +4% due to a rising grand list from strong real estate building permits.
