Under 18? Limited social media for you

A proposed bill put forth by activist CT Attorney General Tong will require social media companies in CT to confirm the age of users under 18 and provide default settings that restrict time of use to one hour per day and prevent social notifications between midnight and 6 am. Parental consent will be required to alter these settings.

This law would require social media platforms to report on an annual basis the usage by minors broken down by age and hour of day.

Between the Lines - Another day, another regulation in the State of Connecticut. We like our regulations virtuous and difficult to enforce.
