The final medal count for the 2024 Olympics is in. The U.S. earned 126 total medals (gold, silver, bronze), more than any other country. For the gold medal count, the U.S. tied with China.
From swimmer Katie Ledecky to basketball's Steph Curry and LeBron James to gymnast Simone Biles, golfer Scottie Scheffler, and speedster Sha'Carri Richardson, the USA shined.
Old Greenwich swimmer Gretchen Walsh contributed a silver medal to the count in the 100 meter butterfly and a gold and 2 silvers in relays. In USA water polo, chaired by Old Greenwich resident Bill Smith, the men's USA water polo team contributed a bronze medal to the count.
Between the lines: Congratulations to the success of our U.S. athletes and the contribution made by Greenwich.
